溺死事故에 대한 調査硏究 : A STUDY ON THE PREVENTION OF DROWNING OM SWIMMING

Nowadays, swimming is testified more outstanding in the effective of psychological and physical culture than any other sports. When swimming seasons come, we usually met unexpected accidents and lost our lives. It amounts to over 800 victims every year. The aim of this study is to prevent the drowning accidents In swimming. So, I distributed questionnaires to life-saviours, water safety guards in the pools, The Korean Federation Swimming, National Policy Station, and The Red Cross to fill them up and send me back every month as monthly report from 1971 to 1974. By the statistical data, I've got total 3556 victims. After researching analysis tove mentioned data, I found that the most of th them were short knowledge of water safety and inexperienced a way of swimming had reached a conclusion in the following areas need some improvement. 1. Intensive training of swimming technique at schools and working posts by encouraging universal unde standing of the problem. 2. Better knowledge of water-safety rules through mass-communication. 3. More and better installation of swimming pools at schools and working posts by enforcement of the measure as one of governmental polices. 4. Strict observance of safety rules. 5. Securing and maintaining sufficient number of swimming trainer and instructor. 6. Re-evaluation for the measure of Safety-first.
